The Friends of the Royal Memorial Chapel is an association established over 20 years ago, with the aim of assisting the chaplains’ in the care and maintenance of this unique and beautiful chapel. Over the years the association has grown in strength. It now has a charter which clearly defines its aims as co-operating with the chapel council in furthering religious and charitable work of the chapel:

  • Creating and maintaining pubic interest and participation of officer cadets & young people
  • Assisting and supporting the chapel council in maintaining, improving and adding to the fabric, fittings, furniture, ornaments, monuments, service and music of the chapel and in the publication of literature.
  • Publishing literature furthering the aims of the friend’s including an annual report of statements of accounts.

In recognition of the support provided by the friends, a friend’s morning service is held on a Sunday in each academy term. The service is followed by a lunch for all the friends and there guests in the academy officers’ mess.

The friends are delighted to welcome new members who are in sympathy with their aims. The annual subscription is £10.

The Friends' Prayer
Holy God,
King of Kings and Lord of Lords;
The heaven of heavens cannot contain Thee,
How much less this house that we have built.
Pour down Thy blessings, we beseech Thee,
On the Royal Memorial Chapel,
And grant that we, its Friends, may ever be mindful
Of the glory of Him for whom it was built,
And the sacrifice of those who are commemorated therein.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.
